Before satellites and advanced radar, weather forecasts were made by understanding cloud formations and wind directions. At the very first STEM Weather Camp, you will explore the science of weather systems and use your senses to make your own weather forecasts. You’ll make your own weather instruments, conduct experiments, make your own videotaped weather report and engage in other fun, hands-on activities that will increase your understanding of weather forecasting.
Campers will also have the opportunity to “meet” one-on-one with the instructor during virtual office hours. Most weather camp activities can be completed with household items most families have on hand. This camp is recommended for students in grades 3-6, but it’s accessible to both older and younger students using included support material.
