Have fun, grow as a writer, and meet other students who share your interests at our Virtual Creative Writing Camp. Develop your skills in writing fiction and poetry and explore other forms of creative writing, such as flash fiction and digital storytelling. Participate in free-writing, guided writing, structured exercises and revision strategies, as well as workshops to learn to give and accept constructive criticism in a supportive environment. Get individual feedback from experienced instructors to develop your unique voice and style, and interact with published, professional writers to hear stories of their craft and careers. Each day will include time for reading, writing and sharing.

This camp will meet online from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. daily. Campers will spend another 1 to 3 hours each day constructing and testing their projects, some of which may also be online. This camp is recommended for students in grades 6-8. For older students, please see the Creative Writing – High School camp.
